Eminem’s “Houdini”: Debut Week Figures and Chart Rankings

Eminem’s new single has brought record-breaking numbers and has already proven to be Marshall’s biggest debut week in years. Here are the numbers to demonstrate the song’s success.

Eight days since the release, “Houdini” is going strong on all streaming platforms. On the home soil, in the US, the track currently holds the following positions:

iTunes: No.1
Youtube: No.1
Amazon: No.2
Spotify: No.4
Apple Music: No.4
Shazam: No.10

Talking about Shazam, “Houdini” was looked up 245,000 on the platform over the week, which makes this week the biggest for any Eminem song in history.

The song’s presence on Spotify stays strong. “Houdini” broke Marshall’s personal streaming record on the first day of release and has continued to do so since. The most recent available number shows “Houdini” hitting 9 million daily streams — a new personal best for Eminem.

1st day: 7.9 million
2nd day: 7.2 million
3rd day: 6.8 million
4th day: 8.5 million
5th day: 8.7 million
6th day: 8.8 million
7th day: 8.9 million
8th day: 9.1 million

In 8 days, it has brought the total count to 66.1 million streams (combined for both explicit and clean versions).

Of course, the single’s success and the increased attention to Eminem’s back catalogue positively affected his ranking as an artist. He stays in the Top 5 of most streamed artists on Spotify Global and in the Top 10 in other countries, including:

US: No.10
UK: No.3
Australia: No.3
Canada: No.6
Germany: No.7

He has also reached a new career peak of 75.9 million monthly listeners on Spotify, getting over 1.2 million listeners to his count yesterday, June 7. Eminem is currently ranked the 11th artist with the most monthly listeners, surpassing Justin Bieber and David Guetta.

Meanwhile, on YouTube, “Houdini” holds the title of the fastest-viewed rap song of 2024. “Houdini” has become Eminem’s second fastest music video to reach 50 million views, following closely behind “Godzilla”. The visuals have achieved this result in a week. Now, on day 8, “Houdini” has over 56 million views and over 3 million likes.

It all translates into a charting success for “Houdini”. We have confirmed reports of the single topping the charts from Australia, Iceland, and the UK.

The UK case is especially impressive.

“Houdini” topped the Official Chart UK with 104,800 units moved in the first week (including 13.3 million streams). It is the best selling week for a single in the UK in a year, and even more importantly, it is the biggest opening week of Marshall’s career since “Without Me” in 2002. “Houdini” has become Em’s first solo No.1 single in the UK in 19 years. The last time he achieved this feat was with “Like Toy Soldiers” in 2005.

“Houdini” is also scheduled to debut at No.1 in Canada.

In the US, “Houdini” is challenging No.1, having secured No.2.

No.2 – is the single’s result in New Zealand, where the top has remained blocked by Tommy Richman.

Talking about TikTok stars, Eminem did well on this platform as well. “Houdini” has landed at No.10 on the Viral 50 Music Chart ad generated over 114,000 video posts on the platform in the first week.

More national charts will show how well “Houdini” did around the world, but even this short review shows that Shady’s back and he is stronger than ever.

Jung Kook Replaces Eminem At No. 1 With His Brand New Single

Celebrities Visit SiriusXM - September 22, 2023

Jung Kook is only a few months removed from wrapping promotion of his debut solo album, but the musician isn’t slowing down. The South Korean superstar has a new single out, and it immediately became another big sales win for the BTS singer.

“Never Let Go” currently sits at No. 1 on the U.S. iTunes chart. The track was released at midnight EST, and it didn’t take very long before it climbed to the summit on the list of the bestselling tracks in America on what is often considered the most important sales platform in the country.

As Jung Kook bolts to No. 1, he replaces another one of the biggest stars in the music world in first place. For the past week, Eminem has ruled the U.S. iTunes ranking with “Houdini,” his latest single. At the moment, “Houdini” sits at No. 2, slipping slightly as even Marshall Mathers couldn’t compete with the BTS favorite.

As “Never Let Go” shoots to the throne, several of Jung Kook’s other recent smashes also surge. His previous single “Standing Next to You” reappears inside the top 40 on the iTunes ranking, landing at No. 37. His collaboration with Jack Harlow, “3D,” lands at No. 100, while “Seven” with rapper Latto settles very close to the bottom of the 200-spot tally.

Jung Kook’s new single is just getting started, but based on this very early, very quick embrace from the public, the singer may have another hit on his hands. Depending on how the tune performs throughout the next six days, the cut could debut on several Billboard charts next week. It will likely reach the Digital Song Sales tally, and it might also find space on the Hot 100 as well.

“Never Let Go” appears to be a standalone single, at least for the moment. Jung Kook is currently enlisted in the South Korean military, fulfilling a duty that all men in the nation must complete by a certain age. The other six members of BTS are busy with the same job at the moment, though they’ll be discharged at different times.

Jung Kook spent much of the latter half of 2023 promoting his first collection on his own, titled Golden. The album peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200, making him one of several members of BTS to fail to reach the No. 1 spot by just one space.

Golden produced several smashes on the Billboard charts in the U.S. Lead single “Seven” debuted atop the Hot 100, making Jung Kook the second South Korean soloist to rule that ranking, following his bandmate Jimin. Follow-up cuts “3D” and “Standing Next to You” both cracked the top five on the same list.
