Jack White was the unexpected source of inspiration for Queen Bey’s new album.
Beyonce has a lot to thank her friend Jack White for.
Admiration and respect for a colleague is often a powerful source of inspiration for some artists. Such was the case with Beyonce, who recently thanked her heart out for the influence her friend Jack White had on her most recent album, “Cowboy Carter.”
Queen Bey’snew album has been making waves since its release on March 29, and the songstress recently revealed the special connection it has to White. The former White Stripes songwriter received a beautiful bouquet of flowers from Beyoncé, along with a heartfelt note expressing her gratitude for his inspiration on the record.
Sharing the gesture on Instagram, White expressed his appreciation for Beyoncé’s kind gesture. The note from the songstress read, “Jack, I hope you are well. I just wanted you to know how much you inspired me on this record. Sending you my love, Beyoncé.”
Beyonce and White really rock
Previously, White had already worked directly with the former Destiny’s Child. The collaboration between Beyoncé and Jack White on “Don’t Hurt Yourself,” from Beyoncé’s 2016 album Lemonade, was a powerful moment in music. White co-produced the track, which showcased Beyoncé’s vocal prowess and fierce energy.
Speaking about their collaboration at the time, White said, “She took just sort of a sketch of a lyrical outline and turned it into the most bodacious, vicious, incredible song.”
White was deeply impressed by Beyoncé’s talent, comparing her voice to legends like Betty Davis or Aretha Franklin. He recounted how the “Single Lady” singer expressed her desire to be in a band with him, leading to their collaboration on “Don’t Hurt Yourself.”
Cowboy Carter is destroying the competition
Despite facing stiff competition from other major artists like Kanye West & Ty Dolla $ign, Ariana Grande, and Future & Metro Boomin, “Cowboy Carter” has been a standout release.
The album has received critical acclaim, with a Metacritic score of 92, making it one of the best-reviewed albums of the year so far. Additionally, it has sparked Grammy buzz, with many predicting that it could earn Beyoncé her first Album of the Year trophy.
With the album’s strong streaming performance and impressive physical sales track record, “Cowboy Carter” is set to be another success for Beyoncé, further solidifying her status as one of music’s biggest stars.
