Taylor Swift knows how to break some astonishing records and her latest jaw-dropping accomplishment is no exception.
The “Bad Blood” singer has just become the first woman to have 10 solo singles get more than 1 billion streams on Spotify, according to a post on X, formerly Twitter.
Her most listened-to single on the streaming service is “Cool Summer” and she is currently the second-most listened-to artist in the world, behind The Weeknd, with 104 million streams a month.
Other women in the top 10 with multiple songs that have more than 1 billion streams are Adele, Ariana Grande, Olivia Rodrigo, Billie Eilish, Dua Lipa, Doja Cat, Lady Gaga, Rihanna and Sia.
Newsweek has contacted Spotify by email to confirm the record.
Swift, 34, has had a phenomenal year of breaking records ever since she started her The Eras World Tour in March 2023.
It became the highest-grossing live music tour in history, long before it hit the halfway point of its scheduled 152 shows.
Swift’s concert movie of the tour broke box office records by earning $92 million in its first weekend and becoming the highest-grossing domestic concert film of all time just on those opening days.
It also made $26 million on the first day of advanced ticket sales, making much more than the previous record holder, Avengers: Endgame at $16 million.
She was even praised by AMC Theaters CEO Adam Aron, who credited Swift and Beyoncé with “literally” saving the theater chain’s financial fortunes. The two women exclusively screened their concert films at AMC in late 2023. Beyoncé’s highlighted her Renaissance world tour.
“Despite a diminished box office overall, in the fourth quarter compared to the same quarter a year ago, AMC’s revenue grew by 11.5 percent and AMC’s adjusted EBITDA almost tripled. Literally, all of that increase… is attributable to our having shown these two movies in our theaters in the U.S. and internationally,” Aron said during AMC Entertainment’s quarterly earning call in February.
The singer-songwriter has also smashed plenty of Spotify records, including her 2022 album, Midnights becoming Spotify’s most-streamed album in a single day, and she also broke the record for the most-streamed artist in a single day in Spotify history.
In 2023, Swift was also the year’s top artist on Spotify with more than 26.1 billion global streams
More recently she became the first person to have five albums each with over 7 billion streams on Spotify, a feat she achieved in January.
Then, just weeks later, she became the first person to win Album of the Year four times at the Grammys.
Fans reacted to her latest accomplishment by praising the singer on X.
“Taylor, the hitmaker that you are!” wrote @arianaunext.
Another person, @sworvx added: “That’s fantastic of her and the cover is ssoooooooo Goood.”
And @thetintedberry commented: “That’s amazing! Her talent and popularity continue to soar high….”
