Deion Sanders truly believes in his children.

Never lacking in confidence, the Colorado Buffaloes head coach is feeling pretty good about his quarterback situation for the upcoming 2024 season. His son, Shedeur, will once again be leading the charge for the Buffaloes.

During a press conference this week, Sanders addressed various topics related to his football team, including his son’s potential as a professional at the next level.

Deion Sanders believes that his son could have been among the first players selected if he was available in the 2024 NFL Draft.

“Shedeur – let’s just get this straight. Let’s get the elephant in the room. Shedeur would have been a high draft pick this year,” Sanders said, via On3. “Let’s just stop the foolishness and you get mad when I tell you.”

Sanders further made it clear that this wasn’t just a bold prediction.

“The only reason I know that is because don’t you think I know people in the NFL? I’m sorry. I played for how many years, 14? Got a gold jacket at the crib, I think. I think I know some people. You know, the Jerry Jones’, Arthur Blanks. I know some people in the game – the Roger Goodells. I know some people. So, when I speak, I’m not just throwing stuff out of my head. I’m throwing stuff based on knowledge.”

In just over a month, Sanders and the Buffaloes will take the field for the program’s annual spring game. That is a weekend that just so happens to coincide with the 2024 draft.

Most analysts believe that USC Trojans quarterback Caleb Williams, LSU Tigers signal-caller Jayden Daniels, and North Carolina Tar Heels starter Drake Maye will be the first three picks for this year’s draft.
