Step into Taylor Swift’s lavish $5M ‘Wonderland’ Penthouse in Nashville

Taylor Swift created her own “Wonderland” in her picturesque Nashville penthouse.

Swift, 34, purchased the multi-story apartment for nearly $2 million in 2009, and although it was once a state-of-the-art bachelor pad, “Cruel Summer” transformed it. It’s a maximalist’s dream.

The “All Too Well” singer was just 20 years old when she purchased the 3,240-square-foot home on Music Row in Nashville.

The pop star spent 18 months renovating the three-bedroom home to realize the creative space of her dreams, which she once told Vanity Fair was inspired by “Tim Burton-Alice in Wonderland.” “fairy-pirate-ship-Peter Pan”.

Upon walking through the front door, visitors are immediately greeted by a sensory overload, from the colorful wallpaper to the koi pond located in the middle of the living room.

According to Swift’s 2012 interview with Rolling Stone, the pond, where the fish dismayed her cat Meredith, “is located beneath a wrought iron spiral staircase that leads to a human-sized birdcage.”

Of course, Swift designed the birdcage herself and called it “the coziest place on earth” complete with pillows and blankets.

The corner duplex’s floor-to-ceiling windows overlook the Great Smoky Mountains beyond Nashville, a stark contrast to the space’s bustling design.

Beyond the lobby – lined with “brightly colored bougainvillea frames” – is “a six-foot-tall manicured rabbit,” according to Vanity Fair.

The walls, some made of brick and others covered in colorful wallpaper, were covered with photos of Swift and some of her closest friends and family.

“I need to have pictures of the people I love everywhere,” Swift told VF in 2012.

However, above the giant stone fireplace with her adorned green face, Swift also framed a photo of the infamous moment Kanye West interrupted her 2009 VMA acceptance speech.

“Life is full of little interruptions,” she reportedly wrote in gold pen on a photo on the mantelpiece, sitting right next to the prize.

While Swift used every inch of the apartment’s wall space, she also made the most of the vaulted ceiling, covering one part with “looped curtains” and the other with “indigo-painted night sky.”

Colorful crystal stars hang from the ceiling, and sparkling chandeliers, and colorful curtains line the window-lined walls.

The slightly more casual living room is decorated with a brown sofa, vintage wooden furniture, and numerous knick-knacks – including a collection of old bottles and antique books – scattered along its carefully arranged bookcases.

A large wooden dining table sits on the other side of the room, next to a large bar area with upholstered and of course colorful chairs.

The floor is covered in faded Persian rugs laid on oak parquet floors.

The living space leads directly to its open kitchen, as eclectic as the rest of the house.

Swift showed fans the maximalist space in her documentary “Miss Americana,” showcasing her culinary skills and design style.

The kitchen seems straight out of a fairy tale with heart-shaped backsplashes, circular archways, and cabinets painted in different shades of blue, red, and yellow.

It appears Swift decorated the cabinets with doodles herself, as each cabinet features a hand-drawn floral design in a variety of colors and sizes.

Its stainless steel grills come with various stickers matching its collection of colored plates and bowls.

A giant wooden island sits in the middle of the room with a black and gold hood placed directly above it.

While most of her house is decorated in every color of the rainbow, her second-floor bedroom has “everything white and fluffy.”

Swift once shared an image of her luxurious bedroom on her Tumblr, showing one of her cats sitting on a soft bed frame covered in cream.

Her bedroom walls are covered in white and brown floral wallpaper, and she’s hung a few vintage-looking mirrors above the bed.

To ensure privacy, the “Anti-Hero” star hung white tiered curtains along the windows, matching the lampshades on her bedside table.

While her unique Nashville apartment is certainly one of Swift’s most creative spaces, the singer-songwriter also owns several other impressive properties.

The 14-time Grammy Award winner’s $80 million real estate portfolio also includes a $50 million compound in New York and her salt house on the Rhode Island coast.

She also acquired another property – called Northumberland Estate – in Nashville in June 2011, where she spends most of her time in Music City.
