In summer 2018, legendary basketball player LeBron James signed a four-year, $153 million contract with the Los Angeles Lakers, signaling his official departure from the Cleveland Cavaliers and his hometown of Akron, Ohio. Prior to the switch, James bought a sizable mansion in Los Angeles’s upscale Brentwood neighborhood for a cool $23 million, adding another home to his already impressive real estate portfolio, which includes another L.A. mansion and his Akron home.

Dubbed a “masterpiece of light and design” by Trulia, the eight-bedroom, 11-bathroom estate boasts an ultra-modern aesthetic, complete with marble countertops and walls, natural French oak floors sourced from Spain, and a neutral color palette focused on white. Built in 2017, the property houses a gated driveway, a custom chef’s kitchen, showroom-level walk-in closets, a private patio in the primary bedroom, rooftop terrace, theater room, wine cellar, cigar lounge, onyx bar, indoor/outdoor gym, spa (complete with steam room, sauna, shower, and massage room), oversized pool and spa, outdoor kitchen, guest quarters, and an “auto gallery”—a fancy name for a garage. Here’s a tour of LeBron James’ newest Los Angeles home.

Primary Bedroom

The term “Primary Bedroom” is now widely used to describe the largest bedroom in the home, as it better reflects the space’s purpose. Many realtors, architects, interior designers, and the Real Estate Standards Association have recognized the potentially discriminatory connotations in the term “Master.” Read more about our Diversity and Inclusion Pledge.

The courtyard laid in concentric brick circles offers plenty of space for James’ storied car collection that includes a Lamborghini Aventador, Porsche 911 Turbo S, and a restored 1975 Chevy Impala, according to Business Insider.

The airy kitchen scores with the gleaming French range, black and white bookend marble backsplash and matching island. The herringbone oak floor and burnished brass details on the lighting, range, and cabinetry add warmth.

The bedroom has a regal feel thanks to the massive bed and the furry decor. But the best feature may be the sunny sitting area with the curvy bean sofa and tree stump tables flanked by oversized artwork.

While this bath-with-a-view is minimal and sleek, walls swathed in full white and black marble slabs create maximum visual impact. With the freestanding platinum French slipper tub and the open room rain shower, it feels both luxe and natural.

Dreamy is the only word for this custom closet with room for a vast collection of Nike sneakers, Thom Browne suits, and hoodies. The showstopper is the jewelry and watch case where James’ most prized timepiece—the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph Tourbillon according to GQ—is sure to rest in a place of honor.

Mike Mancias, James’ trainer for 17 years, told Men’s Health last year that the basketball star’s workout has a few phases, so he needed a home gym with ample storage for weights plus foam rollers, mats, and balance balls. The overhead fan and black steel trimmed sliding doors keep it cool once he’s ready for cardio and strength training portions of the workout.
