Johnny Depp dressed to impress in a pinstripe suit to attend the Madame Figaro x Christian Dior dinner during the 76th Annual Cannes Film Festival on Wednesday.

The Pirates Of The Caribbean actor, 59, was brought to tears the night before after his period piece, Jeanne du Barry, received a seven-minute standing ovation on opening night of the annual event.

The star is no stranger to the world of Dior, and recently signed a $20 million three-year deal to continue to be the face of Dior Sauvage, a fragrance he has been the spokesperson for since 2015.

At the dinner, the father of two, who has opened up on whether he felt ‘boycotted’ by Hollywood, was dapper in a gray, striped suit and a matching waistcoat that was fully buttoned.

He added a black, dress shirt underneath and slipped into a pair of sleek, black shoes that were secured with laces.

The actor threw on a black fedora hat that partially covered his locks that naturally fell down to brush his shoulders.

Johnny added an assortment of silver rings on each of his hands, as well as a dangly silver earring in his left ear. For a finishing touch, the star added a pair of blue, see-through shades.

Shortly before attending the annual Madame Figaro x Christian Dior dinner in Cannes, Depp opened up about whether he felt ‘boycotted’ by Hollywood during a press conference for his film, Jeanne du Barry.

‘I don’t feel boycotted by Hollywood, because I don’t think about Hollywood,’ he admitted, per Variety. ‘I don’t have much further need for Hollywood, myself.’

‘It’s a strange, funny time where everybody would love to be able to be themselves, but they can’t. They must fall in line with the person in front of them. If you want to live that life, I wish you the best.’

The Oscar nominee then discussed his feelings towards being asked to ‘resign’ from a film. He had previously been asked to step down from the Fantastic Beast franchise in 2020.

‘Did I feel boycotted by Hollywood? You’d have to not have a pulse to feel like, “No. None of this is happening. It’s a weird joke,”‘ the actor explained.

He further stated during the conference, ‘When you’re asked to resign from a film you’re doing because of something that is merely a function of vowels and consonants floating in the air, yes, you feel boycotted.’

Depp also hit back at people who have questioned whether Cannes should have given him such a prominent platform.

‘What if one day, they did not allow me to go to McDonald’s for life because somewhere there’d be 39 angry people watching me eat a Big Mac on a loop?’ he asked. ‘Who are they? What do they care?’

The Pirates Of The Caribbean star went on to discuss why he doesn’t think he has had a ‘comeback’, insisting he didn’t go anywhere.

‘I’ve had my 17th comeback, apparently,’ he said. ‘I keep wondering about the word “comeback’. I didn’t go anywhere. As a matter of fact, I live about 45 minutes away. Maybe people stopped calling out of whatever their fear was at the time. But I didn’t go nowhere.’

On Tuesday, Johnny had reason to celebrate when his film, Jeanne du Barry, officially premiered on opening night of the 76th Cannes Film Festival.

The project was his first leading role in three years and following his high-profile defamation trial with ex-wife, Amber Heard, that took place last year.

The star played the role of King Louis XV, and joined other cast members such as Benjamin Lavernhe and Maïwenn, who also directed the nearly two hour film.

In remarks to the press Monday, Cannes director Thierry Fremaux defended the decision to have Depp to take part in the festival, saying Depp is extraordinary in the film and he paid no attention to the trial.

‘If Johnny Depp had been banned from acting in a film, or the film was banned we wouldn’t be here talking about it.’

Also in attendance at the Madame Figaro x Dior dinner was supermodel, Karlie Kloss, who was a vision in a shimmering, gold dress with a plunging, V-neck cut and was secured with a belt tied directly above her growing baby bump.

The beauty, who announced her second pregnancy at the MET Gala earlier this month, slipped into a pair of open-toed, gold strappy sandals to coincide with the color scheme of the ensemble.
