Shakira is back at the World Cup. After setting the stage ablaze twice at the last World Cup four years ago in South Africa, FIFA bosses have called upon the Colombian superstar to repeat as musical guest at the 2014 Brazil World Cup.

Shakira wasn’t scheduled to perform at this World Cup edition at the beginning but after the disaster that was the opening performance of “We Are One (Ole, Ola)” with Pitbull and Jennifer Lopez, the disappointing sales of the song, and the cascade of critics (calling it the worst World Cup song ever), FIFA bosses had no option but to ask Shakira to please return this year and save them from further ‘musical’ disaster.

What song did she perform?

Shakira performed ‘La La La (Brazil 2014)’ alongside Carlinhos Brown. ‘La La La’ as well as the original version called ‘Dare’ are found on Shakira’s latest self-titled tenth album. The song is produced by Dr. Luke, Cirkut and Billboard.

When and where did this happen?

The Colombian pop star performed ‘La La La (Brazil 2014)’ at the closing ceremony of the 2014 World Cup at Maracana Stadium (78,838 capacity) in Rio de Janeiro on Sunday, July 13th, 2014. This closing ceremony preceded the final Germany vs. Argentina match.
