Michael Jackson’s sister La Toya takes exception to Harry Styles being dubbed the new ‘King of Pop’… after being unmasked as Burger Gal on The Masked Singer

La Toya Jackson has broken her silence on Harry Styles being labelled the ‘new King of Pop’ on the cover of Rolling Stone UK last year.

The American singer, 67, is the older sister of the legendary Michael Jackson who is widely considered the original King of Pop, with his estate trademarking the title.

Speaking with KIIS FM’s The Kyle and Jackie O Show on Tuesday, La Toya insisted no one ‘can ever top’ her brother and take the crown.

‘You know, [Harry is] a great entertainer. He’s wonderful. I truly believe that,’ she told hosts Jackie ‘O’ Henderson and Kyle Sandilands.

‘I’m not being biased, but I think that my brother is the greatest of all time and he always will be.’

She continued: ‘He was incredible and I don’t think anyone can ever top him. I would love to meet the person that could do that.’

Nevertheless, La Toya insisted she does ‘love’ Harry and believes he’s a great performer in his own right.

Michael died at the age of 50 in 2009 from a cardiac arrest he suffered after having Propofol administered as a sleep aid.

Regarded as one of the most significant cultural figures of the 20th century, Michael earned the title King of Pop in the ’80s for hits such as Thriller.

However, it seems the moniker has been passed on to Harry who has dominated the pop scene since releasing his debut solo single Sign of the Times in 2017.

La Toya’s interview on the matter comes after she was revealed to be Burger Gal on The Masked Singer Australia.

The Masked Singer Australia’s Burger Gal is revealed

She was unmasked during Monday night’s ‘time machine’ special, with Mel B being the only judge who guessed correctly.

Abbie Chatfield, Chrissie Swan and Dave Hughes all fell short.

La Toya went on to reveal one of the many challenges of performing on the singing competition – and the great irony of her being cast as Burger Gal.

‘[The costume was ] extremely heavy for me. I don’t know why I’m in [it] because I don’t even eat meat,’ she said.
