A day after she declared for the WNBA Draft, Angel Reese spoke out about the whirlwind that came along with her announcement.

On Monday night, LSU lost to Iowa in the Elite Eight of the most-watched game in women’s college basketball history.

On Wednesday, Reese officially stated her college career was over with an announcement in Vogue Magazine, by saying she is headed to the WNBA.

The crossover to a non-sports outlet to break the news was in line with the way tennis legend Serena Williams announcer her impending retirement, also with Vogue Magazine.

The WNBA Draft is April 15, with Reese a likely candidate to be chosen among the top-three picks.

‘Whew I wasn’t able to even digest everything yesterday but I want to say thank EVERYONE for showing me sooooo much love!’ Reese posted on X. ‘Making my announcement with VOGUE was ICONIC.’

‘In this new world that I’m stepping into, just believe in me, trust in me & give me time to learn and grow!’ Reese continued.

Reese’s first public appearance after announcing her departure from LSU was at Wednesday night’s New Orleans Pelicans game against the Orlando Magic.

Iowa sensation Caitlin Clark has long been linked with being chosen No 1 overall by the Indiana Fever in this month’s draft.

Reese could have a suitor in the team with the No 2 overall pick the Los Angeles Sparks.

The team that displayed Lisa Leslie and Candace Parker could next be making Reese a franchise star.

Reese gained the moniker the ‘Bayou Barbie’ while playing for the Tigers. Another nickname of ‘Hollywood Barbie’ could be next.
