The New York Giants are expected to pull off a major trade very soon, according to FOX’s Sheena Marie.

Marie, a beat writer for the Carolina Panthers, has reported that two-time Pro Bowler Brian Burns will be joining the Giants barring a breakdown in negotiations.

“Barring a last minute, complete breakdown in negotiations, Brian Burns will be a New York Giant, per source,” she reported on Monday afternoon. “I’ll update after proposed compensation is confirmed.”

Mutual Interest Reported Between The Parties
SNY’s Connor Hughes had previously reported that there was mutual interest between the Giants and the pass rusher.

Burns, one of the best players in his position, has earned Pro Bowl honors in two of the last three seasons, having registered 29.5 total sacks over said period and missing only two games.

The Panthers placed a non-exclusive, $24 million franchise tag on him earlier this month, but it appears he will be playing in a new uniform next season.
