New York Giants legend Tiki Barber did not mince words when discussing Saquon Barkley’s decision to sign with the archrival Philadelphia Eagles in 2024 NFL free agency.

Per multiple reports, Barkley and the Eagles agreed to a lucrative three-year contract worth $37.75 million in free agency. Barkley spent his first six NFL seasons with the Giants, earning two Pro Bowl nods while also putting up four seasons of 1,200-plus yards of offense.

Speaking on WFAN Sports Radio in New York, the longtime Giants’ star didn’t hold back in expressing his disappointment with the former second overall pick.

“He’s dead to us now. You’re dead to us, Saquon,” Barber said. “Good luck, you’re dead to me.”

The Giants placed the franchise tag on Barkley last year, but the two sides failed to reach an agreement on a long-term deal. The two sides finally reached an agreement on a one-year pact ahead of the season, but GM Joe Schoen curiously decided not to trade Barkley ahead of the deadline despite his team being well out of the playoff race.

So the Giants are losing a two-time Pro Bowler for nothing, while Barkley gets the chance to chase a Super Bowl ring on a top NFC team. Indeed, it’s a tough pill for countless Giants fans to swallow today.

That said, Schoen tried to reduce some of the damage of Barkley’s departure by signing another quality RB in Devin Singletary. The ex-Houston Texan and Buffalo Bill signed a three-year pact with the Giants worth $16.5 million.
