MLB Network Jon Morosi sent out an apology on Friday night after sharing what turned out to be an inaccurate report about two-way superstar and free agent Shohei Ohtani.

On Friday afternoon, Toronto Blue Jays fans went into a frenzy when Morosi reported that Ohtani was on his way to The Six to meet with the AL East club. The Jays and Los Angeles Dodgers are reportedly the two main front-runners for the 2023 AL MVP.

However, several other MLB insiders reported that Ohtani was still at his home in southern California and not on his way to Toronto.

Afterwards, Morosi sent out an apology about his inaccurate report on Ohtani:

The unfortunate part about this for Morosi is that his report just so happened to be about the biggest free agent in MLB history. Many fans were immediately convinced that Ohtani was a Blue Jay, but the reports about him flying to Toronto proved to be inaccurate, as Ohtani not only didn’t fly there, but he also never ended up signing with the Blue Jays despite all the rumors.
