Houston Rockets center Alperen Şengün suffered a leg injury late in Sunday’s tilt against the Sacramento Kings, and was taken off the court in a wheelchair.

Şengün landed awkwardly on his left leg during the fourth quarter of the game after attempting to contest Domantas Sabonis on a fast break layup following a Houston turnover. After his unnatural landing, Şengün was on the ground in considerable pain until the training staff arrived. After a few minutes, the 21-year-old was helped into a wheelchair and rolled into the locker room with his hands over his face.

The third-year center is in the midst of a breakout season in Houston, averaging 21.2 points, 9.4 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game, all of which are career highs.

Prior to his exit on Sunday night, which came with just 39 seconds left in the fourth quarter, Şengün had logged 14 points, six rebounds, two assists and two steals. The Rockets ultimately went on to pick up a 112–104 victory, during which Houston staged a 13-point comeback.
