Did Lakers’ Bronny Move Just Kill LeBron James to Spurs Dream? San Antonio Tracker

RJUNE 1 LAKERS MOVE Did the New Orleans Pelicans just kill any shot of LeBron James playing in San Antonio?

A Pels’ decision “clears the way” for Bronny James to be taken by the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2024 NBA Draft with the No. 17 pick. … which would seem to solidify the idea that his dad, LeBron, will stay in Hollywood.

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Pelicans will defer the Lakers’ first-round pick until next year’s draft.

This will allow the Lakers to use the No. 17 pick – and will allow them to take Bronny.

That doesn’t completely prevent LeBron from shopping himself, of course. But Bronny to L.A. might be a lure to good to pass up for proud Dad.

MAY 28 VICTOR “BEST PLAYER IN THE LEAGUE” WEMBANYAMA? The hype train is here, and at the moment, Milwaukee Bucks Damian Lillard is the conductor. Lillard has high hopes for Victor Wembanyama, skipping the line kind of high.

“I think by next season people gonna be talking ’bout (Wembanyama) as being the best player in the league,” Lillard said. Wembanyama averaged 21 points, 10.6 rebounds, and 3.6 blocks for the 2023-2024 season.

It’s only up from here.

MAY 28 MORE SHOTS! Anthony Edwards’ Timberwolves are down 0-2 in the WCF against the Dallas Mavericks as a Sunday night Game 3 approaches in Big D, and he’s got a plan.

More shots!

“Y’all going to see tonight,” he said. “It’s going to be a lot of shots.”

Maybe the Timberwolves need a more assertive Edwards. But wait. Ant-Man did shoo 17 times in Game 2 on Friday. But Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving walked out of Minny with the win in part because Edwards made just five of those attempts.

Maybe, with all due respect to Edwards … He doesn’t need more shots. He needs more makes.

MAY 22 IT’S HIS CARD AND HE WANTS IT NOW As the San Antonio Spurs await the NBA draft, their eyes are set on the prospects leading up to the June event. However, Victor Wembanyama’s mind is on fun, as the rookie deserves to relax after being the youngest player to earn All-Defense First Team honors.

A picture is floating around the internet, showing Wermbanyama at a trading card store, allegedly seeking his rookie year card.
