Yet, for Nicole Kidman, a mainstay in the fashion scene, the glamour of the red carpet doesn’t always reflect her true feelings. In a recent interview, the Australian Academy Award winner shared her unique red carpet philosophy for the first time, admitting a preference for pajamas over posing for paparazzi.

“It can feel surreal,” she said, discussing her role in the series “Expats.” “Sometimes, I just want to shed my dress and slip into pajamas. It’s like the reverse of Cinderella—I’m eager to return home and be myself.” Despite this, Kidman effortlessly captures attention on the red carpet, with her unforgettable custom Prada ensemble from the premiere of Robert Eggers’ 2022 film “The Norseman” still resonating vividly in our memories here at GRAZIA.

Of course, Kidman’s admission doesn’t mean we’ll be seeing less of her on the red carpet anytime soon. On the contrary, in fact. In the profile, Kidman also discussed her and Reese Witherspoon’s plans for the upcoming third season of Big Little Lies. (Which, if the first two seasons are anything to go by, could promise a cast reunion of titanic proportions and a red carpet that “mothers” so hard it resets our cultural fabric.)

“I think when you’re all scattered and never sort of cross paths, it’s very, very different. But when you’re all still very intertwined, that’s what makes it doable, because there’s a willingness and you want to spend time together,” she said of organising several A-list schedules to align on filming dates.
