The Fans Defend Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire from Unfair Criticism
Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire receives the second worst scores in the MonsterVerse franchise.
Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire has hit the theatres and reviews from the newest project of the MonsterVerse franchise hit an all-time low, despite the project featuring second-best previews ever. While certain fans are utterly disgusted with Adam Wingard’s latest project, some are satisfied with the film. However, the newest addition to the franchise has the second worst reviews for the film standing at an all-time low of 56% at Rotten Tomatoes.
Scar King in Godzilla x Kong
While the film was entertaining to watch, the critics did not agree with the viewers, as the newest film failed to make any new approach to the film which prevents it from showcasing a fascinating plot from metamorphosing into something better. However, ardent fans of the franchise believe otherwise because they believe that the low score is a result of the film constantly being compared with Godzilla Minus One.
Fans Protect Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire For Having a Low Score
Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire continues to expand its franchise by featuring a similar plot and characters to its predecessors. The audience thinks it is an absolute masterpiece as the Rotten Tomatoes audience has set a score of 93%.
As per Deadline, the film is expected to play in 3,850 theaters with some theatres being shared by Timothée Chalamet’s Dune: Part Two, which is the biggest watch of 2024.
A still from Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire
But don’t be mistaken, as The New Empire features Kong predominantly following the trials and tribulations as he explores the Hollow Earth and uncovers its pleasant and darkest secrets. Among the Kaijus, the film featured the mother-daughter duo of Dr. Ilene Andrews (Rebecca Hall) and Jia, who is at the center of helping Kong make sure he’s not alone in his job of saving the Hollow Earth from Skar King. The action sequences featured in the film were grand and colossal.
Nevertheless, the critics of the film were not moved by the jaw-dropping action scene and the outstanding VFX featured in the final scene of the film, as the film received the second lowest score of 56% at the Tomatometer, barely staying afloat above Godzilla: King of the Monsters which has a score of 42%.
