Michael Jordan was drafted in 1984, and Magic Johnson led the Lakers into the NBA finals, coming off a stellar win against the Boston Celtics. These two legends squared off great wins in the year 1984 when the ‘King of Longevity’ was born. The athleticism and basketball IQ of the two legends combined were showered on the future star forward of the Los Angeles Lakers.

The ‘Chosen One’ made a name for himself in high school and later decided to skip college for the NBA. Little did he know that much greater things would await him just 20 years down the line. LeBron James is 39 years old, and still, the hunger for title shots seems to be well on the ‘to-do’ list. The star forward won his first-ever In-Season MVP title in the inaugural In-Season Tournament, adding another accolade to his list of achievements.

Gloria James, the mother of LeBron James, also presented her side of the story in a video that surfaced on Twitter. Mommy James spilled the beans on a hilarious incident that happened when King James was just 2 years old. When Gloria James lowered the hoop by certain inches to make it easier for the star forward to score baskets, James started throwing tantrums.

The ‘Akron Hammer’ didn’t need any help scoring and whined about the lowered hoop, requesting to put it back up. Mommy James said, “I said you are not gonna make no baskets if I put it up,” while narrating the story. Concluding the narrative, she said, “That’s where it started.” The ‘L-Train’ doesn’t seem to stop anytime soon, after he hit the mark of the NBA’s all-time leading scorer.

Gloria James has a heartfelt message for her son, LeBron James

It’s out there in the open now that mommy James refers to her son as ‘The Goat.’ After James surpassed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and scored 38,388 points against the Oklahoma City Thunder, Gloria penned down a beautiful note for him.

A day after the stellar fadeaway jumper of James, mommy James took to Instagram and wrote, “Congratulations, my son 🎉🎊🎉🎊!!!! You’re motto is: “Nothing is given. Everything is earned.” This is just another example of how all of your hard, disciplined, consistent and focused work gets you what you received.”

The ‘Chosen One’ entered the league as a Rookie of the Year, dominating in his 20th year, and now he is pioneering with winning the first-ever titles, just like the In-Season MVP. The star has showcased how to “keep calm and keep working” while critics do their part in defaming the star.
