Patrick Beverley Throws Ball at Former Coach Nick Nurse After Milwaukee Bucks Defeat Philadelphia 76ers

In Thursday night’s matchup, the Milwaukee Bucks emerged victorious against the Philadelphia 76ers. With Khris Middleton and Malik Beasley sidelined, Patrick Beverley seized the opportunity for a starting role, facing off against his former team.

Beverley reignited an old rivalry with his ex-coach Nick Nurse, who orchestrated his trade to the Bucks earlier in February.

During the game’s final possession, the Bucks forced a turnover, allowing Beverley to secure the ball. Rushing to the other end of the court to run out the clock, the 6-foot-2 guard seemed to hurl the ball in Nurse’s direction as the buzzer sounded, hinting at potential tension between player and former coach.

Fortunately, Sixers’ Mo Bamba intercepted the ball before it reached Nurse, who was walking away at the time. The incident did not escalate further.

Despite modest statistics, Beverley’s 26-minute performance in his second start for the Bucks proved influential in their 114-105 triumph over the Eastern Conference rivals.

Just over a month ago, the Sixers traded Beverley to Milwaukee in exchange for Cameron Payne and a future second-round pick. This move came after Beverley’s 47-game stint with the Sixers in the first half of the 2023-24 season, following his free-agent signing last summer.
