Ryan Reynolds has revealed he hopes his fourth child with Blake Lively will be a girl – after previously welcoming three daughters.

The actor, 46, who shares seven-year-old James, six-year-old Inez and three-year-old Betty with Blake, 35, revealed the couple ‘never find out’ their child’s gender before the birth in a candid chat on Monday’s The Today Show.

The star said: ‘I know girls, so I’m kind of hoping that but I’m ready for whatever.

‘We don’t know the 𝓈ℯ𝓍 of the 𝚋𝚊𝚋𝚢 and we never find out ’til [they’re born].

The actor spoke about his upbringing as the youngest of four sons, joking his siblings ‘were just arsonists and firemen’ before admitting he was the ‘ultimate girl dad.’

In mid- September, The Town actress Blake revealed her pregnancy as she shared a series of photos showing herself with a growing tummy.

Lively stood in a tight red one-piece bathing suit in a couple of the photos.

She also snuggled up next to her husband while lying back on a beach chair.

In another photo, she tightly hugged close pal Taylor Swift, who looked overjoyed to learn Lively is expecting.

Reynolds and Lively married back in 2012 after meeting on the set of the Green Lantern movie.

Taylor Swift fans were recently left convinced she revealed the name of her close pals Blake and Ryan’s fourth child in a verse of her song, You’re On Your Own, Kid.

Ahead of the birth of the couple’s latest addition, who is due in February or March of 2023, a specific name Twitter users went into a frenzy over the idea that the pop star, 32, had publicly disclosed the unborn 𝚋𝚊𝚋𝚢’s moniker.

While the theory remains unconfirmed, Swifties believe they decoded an Easter egg that the Deadpool actor and his wife are planning to call their little one Daisy May.

The name was plucked from Swift’s lyrics: ‘I see the great escape, so long, Daisy May / I picked the petals, he loves me not / Something different bloomed, writing in my room / I play my songs in the parking lot.’

This comes two years after she shared Lively and Reynolds’ daughter’s name in her emotional track, Betty.

The Cats actress and Lively have been friends since around 2015, so it is no surprise that she would pay homage to the actress’ growing family.

While accepting her third album of the year win for Folklore at the 63rd annual Grammy Awards in 2021, Swift  namechecked her pal’s children yet again.

“I want to thank James, Inez and Betty and their parents who are the second and third people who I play every new song that I write,” she gushed, at the time.
