When Eddie House completely lost if after his son, Jaelen, came in clutch for New Mexico as they battled San Diego State on March 16, one person who particularly admired the father’s job was LeBron James.

Jaelan scored a three-pointer with 1:23 left in the contest to make it a five-point game at 64-59, as the team went on to win 68-61 in order to claim the Mountain West title.

He scored 28 points, five rebounds and three steals, earning the respect of his adoring dad, who shouted, “That’s my mother**king son!”

The Los Angeles Laker expressed his respect for House’s reaction by taking to social media to quote tweet the Hoop Central X.com account, formerly Twitter, with, “I love that!!! So [fire emojis].”

The House father-son dynamic isn’t the only one in basketball as James himself is actually guiding his own kid, Bronny, to the NBA with the USC Trojans.

Bronny managed to keep his career alive after suffering a dramatic and scary cardiac arrest in 2023, before he returned to the court in the latter part of the year to the joy of his fellow peers and the sports world.

LeBron James hopes to play alongside his son, at least once, before he bows out of the game as he’s now aged 39 and Bronny could be drafted after he announced his plans to enter the NBA rookie draft, although his agent will wait to gauge the interest first.

“I don’t value a young player getting into the lottery as much as I do getting him on the right team in the right developmental situation,” Bronny’s agent, Rich Paul, said to ESPN. “LeBron wants Bronny to be his own man.”

So far, the youngster has averaged 4.8 points per game, 2.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 19.4 minutes of NCAA action.

His true value could perhaps lie in coaxing LeBron James to a new franchise as he is currently unable to find a new contract with the Lakers as of the time of writing.
