Cardi B has some words for people criticizing her accent, one of the most recent being her latest enemy, Bia.
The rapper hopped on Twitter Monday to chat with fans. One user was defending Cardi against bullying she receives for the way she speaks, even questioning if such mocking is considered racism. The Bronx star was born in New York to a Dominican father and a Trinidadian mother. Since the beginning of her career, Cardi’s accent has been the topic of scrutiny, and it appears that she appreciated the fan coming to her aid.
“Awwwww thanks for defending me. F**K THEM. I will never change the way I talk… I became famous from that just being myself! Then I started making music and became a millionaire out of it.. THIS IS A MULTIMILLION DOLLAR ACCENT BABBYY OKKKKRRR,” Belcalis wrote.

Her speech also came up in Bia’s diss track, “Sue Me,” which she previewed over the weekend. In one line, Bia raps, “You should be home with your kids ’cause b***h, you speak like second grade.” The ladies have been embroiled in a nasty beef, which was brewed for months, starting with the release of Cardi’s track, “Like What,” in early March. Bia felt that Cardi was somehow copying her style, though the former reality star maintains that she recorded the song in 2023 and didn’t use Bia for inspiration. Things came to a head when Cardi went live on Instagram Saturday to slam the rapper for continuing to bash her even after they’d spoken and made amends. Bia responded with her own IG Live, where she debuted the song.
Cardi also poked fun at part of Bia’s livestream, retweeting friend and blogger Ken Barbie, who was mocking Bia for admitting that she and her friends were gossiping about Cardi’s tattoos in a group chat.
