‘Houdini’ swiftly becomes Eminem’s second most-viewed debut music video since ‘Killshot’.
Eminem’s Houdini clocked 13.5 million views in its first 24 hours
Eminem’s newest single, Houdini, has become his second-most-viewed debut music video since Killshot. In its first 24 hours on YouTube, the rapper’s latest track clocked a staggering 13.5 million views.
Despite the huge amount of views, Houdini isn’t Eminem’s most viewed debut music video. In 2018, the Detroit hip-hop icon released Killshot, a diss track aimed at fellow US rapper Machine Gun Kelly, which amassed a mammoth 38.1 million views in the 24 hours after its release.
Globally, the Killshot video was the 19th most viewed clip in its debut 24 hours. That’s not where the accolades ended, however, as Killshot became the most viewed debut hip hop video since Kanye West’s and Lil Pump’s “I Love It”.
Houdini still managed to become the second most-viewed debut hip-hop music video. Its instant popularity saw it overtake Godzilla, another Eminem track, in the viewership stakes.
Judging by Houdini’s popularity, music fans are eagerly anticipating the release of “The Death of Slim Shady”, Eminem’s latest album, slated to be released in September 2024. Eminem, real name Marshall Mathers, has released 11 albums, selling well over 200 million records and seeing him establish himself as one of the most popular rappers of all time.
