One of the lawyers representing Diddy‘s abused ex-girlfriend Casandra ‘Cassie’ Fine has blasted his apology video as ‘pathetic, desperate, and disingenuous’ five months after he proclaimed innocence and said she was only suing him for a ‘payday.’
‘It’s so difficult to reflect on the darkest times in your life, sometimes you got to do that. I was f***ed up. I mean, I hit rock bottom, but I make no excuses,’ the disgraced 54-year-old – who boasts 45.4M social media followers – said on Sunday.
‘My behavior on that video is inexcusable. I take full responsibility for my actions in that video. I’m disgusted. I was disgusted then when I did it. I am disgusted now. I went and I sought out professional help, I got into going to therapy, going to rehab. [I] had to ask God for his mercy and grace. I’m so sorry. But I’m committed to be a better man each and every day. I’m not asking for forgiveness. I’m truly sorry.’
Attorney Meredith Firetog responded to Sean ‘LOVE’ Combs aka Diddy through TMZ: ‘Combs’ most recent statement is more about himself than the many people he has hurt. When Cassie and multiple other women came forward, he denied everything and suggested that his victims were looking for a “payday.”‘
Firetog continued: ‘That he was only compelled to “apologize” once his repeated denials were proven false shows his pathetic desperation, and no one will be swayed by his disingenuous words.’
The embattled rap mogul was defiant only until CNN leaked a video of him violently assaulting his 37-year-old ex on March 6, 2016.
Cassie claimed Diddy paid InterContinental Century City staff $50K for the security camera footage – which showed him smack her to the ground, kick her, throw glass at her, then drag her back to their hotel room.
The LA County District Attorney said they could not prosecute the Harlem-born hip-hop star for the beating as California’s statute of limitations has passed (one year for assault, three years for aggravated assault).
Fine (born Ventura) was only 19 when the then 36-year-old Diddy signed her to Bad Boy Records in 2005, and they reportedly dated between 2007 and 2018.
The three-time Grammy winner was hit with four similar lawsuits after quickly settling the Psychic singer’s lawsuit alleging rape, abuse, and sex trafficking for an undisclosed amount on November 17.
Diddy had his homes in Holmby Hills and Miami raided by Homeland Security on March 25 in connection with a sex-trafficking investigation, and his drug mule Brendan Paul was arrested.
Cassie now leads a quiet life with her husband of four years – personal trainer Alex Fine – and their four-year-old daughter Frankie Stone and three-year-old daughter Sunny Cinco.
12 days after Fine filed her November 16th lawsuit, the unmarried father-of-seven officially stepped down as REVOLT’s chairman, and the multi-platform media company has removed any evidence of him off their website.
He continued: ‘My behavior on that video is inexcusable. I take full responsibility for my actions in that video. I’m disgusted. I was disgusted then when I did it. I am disgusted now. I went and I sought out professional help, I got into going to therapy, going to rehab. [I] had to ask God for his mercy and grace. I’m so sorry. On Saturday, REVOLT TV and REVOLT News issued a second joint statement reading: ‘We are deeply saddened and disturbed by the recent video circulating of our former chairman, Sean “Diddy” Combs.
