Chiefs Coach Andy Reid and Wife Announce Difficult Decision to End 45-Year Marriage
Kansas City, MO – In a somber announcement, Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid and his wife of 45 years have revealed they are ending their marriage.
“With a heavy heart, my wife and I have made the difficult decision to go our separate ways,” Reid said in a brief statement. “She deserves more, and I wish her all the best as she moves forward.”
The Reids, who met in college and married shortly after, have been pillars of the Kansas City community since Reid took over as head coach in 2013. Their philanthropic work and dedication to the team have endeared them to fans across the region.
“Andy and Tammy have been an integral part of the Chiefs organization and our community for nearly a decade,” said team owner Clark Hunt. “We are saddened to see them part ways, but we respect their privacy and decision during this challenging time.”
Details surrounding the divorce remain private, but sources close to the couple indicate it was a mutual, amicable decision after years of trying to make the marriage work.
“They simply grew apart over the decades, as sometimes happens in long-term relationships,” said the source. “But there is still a deep respect and care between them.”
As the Chiefs prepare for the upcoming season, the focus will be on supporting their head coach through this personal transition. Fans across the NFL are sending their thoughts and well-wishes to the Reid family during this difficult chapter.
