Elsa Pataky has revealed that she doesn’t regret getting a matching tattoo with her former sister-in-law, Miley Cyrus.
The pair have identical wave tattoos, which were drawn by American surfer Kelly Slater, with Elsa speaking about the ink to Vogue Australia.
It comes after Elsa made international headlines in November when she said that her brother-in-law, Liam Hemsworth, ‘deserves much better’ following his split from Miley.
Vogue reported that Elsa refused to speak about Miley during the interview and was ‘tactful’ when discussing her tattoos.
‘I don’t regret any of them,’ Elsa told the publication about her inkings.
‘They’re symbols and I love having them and it reminds me of those moments.’
Elsa and Miley were thought to be close before Miley’s split with Liam, 30, last year.
The comments are worlds away from what the Spanish model said during a press conference in Madrid in November last year.
According to Hola! Magazine, Elsa said that Liam ‘deserves much better’ after his split from Miley, 27.
‘My brother-in-law, well… after a relationship that you’ve dedicated ten years to, he’s a little bit down, but he’s coping well, he’s a strong boy and he deserves the best,’ Elsa reportedly said.
‘I think he deserves much better,’ she added.
Speaking about Liam’s relationship with her husband, Chris, she continued: ‘You always find support in your family, and he’s joined at the hip with [Chris], who has been there to give all the strength he needed.’
It was a surprising move from Elsa, who had been close friends with Miley, 27, during the pop star’s decade-long relationship with Liam.
Miley and Elsa would often spend time together in Byron Bay, the coastal town in Australia where the Hemsworths own several properties.
Miley and Liam announced their split August last year, after just eight months of marriage.
Miley later embarked on a brief romance with U.S. reality star Kaitlynn Carter, but they broke up within a few weeks. She is now with Australian musician Cody Simpson, 22.
Meanwhile, Liam is dating 21-year-old model Gabriella Brooks.
