Doja Cat has denied dissing fellow rapper Cardi B on her upcoming album Scarlet 2 in a fiery tirade of comments to fans on X.
After songs from the record were leaked online days before the official release, some followers speculated that the Say So hitmaker, 28, may have taken a swipe at Cardi, 31, on the song Acknowledge Me.
After one fan on the platform asked Doja which track she ‘whacked’ Cardi on, a furious Doja fired back, ‘None of them get a f***in life.’
The rapper then clarified that the celebrity name used in the verse of the song is actually Canadian pop star Carly Rae Jepsen, claiming she raps ‘Carly Rae’ not ‘Cardi B.’
She also assured fans that she wasn’t bothered by the leaks of the album, replying: ‘But it doesn’t make the music sound better or worse so why does it matter?’
In another playful post on X, she declared that the ‘big three’ in the rap genre currently is Pitbull, Chingy and Baby Bash.
The rare X posts come after Doja – real name Amala Ratna Zandile Dlamini – put on a cheeky display on Instagram this Tuesday while plugging her upcoming music.
The rap star posed with her back to the camera, dropping to a squat to emphasize her assets to full advantage.
She was decked out in a slinky, ribbed nude bodysuit that was cut high enough to provide a generous glimpse of her derriere.
Adding a dash of showgirl chic with a cream fur vest, the Los Angeles native balanced on a pair of towering stilettos.
The sensational image was quickly followed by a post on her main Instagram page revealing that her next album Scarlet 2 Claude is out this Friday, April 5.
Scarlet 2 Claude is a deluxe edition of her fourth studio album Scarlet, which Doja dropped last September to a glowing response from her fans.
The first iteration of Scarlet included the hit singles Attention and Paint The Town Red, both of which entered the top 40.
Now a follow-up edition is in the offing with new music – some of which Doja beguilingly teased on her Instagram page Tuesday.
Her voice rings out ethereally: ‘Boy, we way too bold for this s***,’ with some electronic alterations to give the sound a robotic, sci-fi feel.
In keeping with the audio aesthetic of the number, Doja can be seen dancing around in a futuristic outfit, shot in silhouette to lend the clip an air of mystery.
Scarlet 2 Claude was initially called Scarlet II: Claude Frollo, named after the villain in Victor Hugo’s novel The Hunchback of Notre Dame.
