The last time Vignettes owner Ed Schmalz hosted a Taylor Swift-themed pop-up bar, he hoped the superstar would just fly in and show up.

Now that Swift has quite the connection to Kansas City with her beau, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, maybe his hopes will come true this time.

The space at 2376 Armour Road in North Kansas City is hosting “The Tortured Pop-Up Department,” a Swift-themed pop-up bar in honor of her next album, “The Tortured Poets Department,” that is coming out April 19.

The theme runs from May 3 to July 6, and fans can book reservations online at OpenTable.

“Let’s jump in the getaway car because it’s time to crank it to 13 and celebrate T-Swizzle,” the venue said on its Facebook page. “Don’t tell us we have to jump off a very tall building to see if you come running – because you will remember these drinks all too well!”

One comment on Facebook said, “Things we would never say over getting too excited about this pop up: You need to calm down,” and “You’re being too loud.”

Schmalz and his wife, Maggie Boone, are huge fans of Swift and are excited to put the event together. They are also ready to listen to the album over and over again so they can build sets, sneak in Easter eggs, and reference to everything that has happened post-Eras tour.

“Last time we did this, we had all the “Anti-Hero” style ghosts of her past self,” Schmalz said. “We’re really excited to just triple down and be even more obsessed.”

Photo ops based on the getaway car Kelce and Swift took after the Chiefs’ 41-10 victory over the Chicago Bears last season will be in the building. Cocktails like “Just Another Cocktail to Burn,” “Beerdrops On My Guitar” and “Champagne Pomblems” — made with pomegranate grenadine, botanical gin, lemon juice, prosecco, topped off with a pomegranate garnish — make their way to the menu.

Boone, whose stage name is Miss Maggie Moon, learned over 40 of Swift’s greatest hits to perform at the last pop-up bar and will be back on stage for this one. Schmalz said that every artist they have booked for the pop-up bar, like local acoustic cover duo Discord and Rhyme, knows at least 17 Swift songs.

Depending on the day, you will experience one of these activities:

Karaoke on Sundays and Mondays
Game show on Tuesdays
Taylor Swift trivia on Wednesdays
Music bingo on Thursdays
Live performances Fridays and Saturdays

You will also be able to make friendship bracelets while the bar is open.

Vignettes’ pop-up bars are usually reserved for people 21 and older, but this one will be open for people 15 and older every Sunday through Thursday. Schmalz said there were a lot of mother-daughter reservations booked for their last Swift pop-up bar and their most recent Dolly Parton theme and expects the same for this upcoming theme.
