Andrew Wiggins in black Warriors uniformPHOENIX, ARIZONA – NOVEMBER 16: Andrew Wiggins #22 of the Golden State Warriors reacts after a three-point shot against the Phoenix Suns during the second half of the NBA game at Footprint Center on November 16, 2022 in Phoenix, Arizona. The Suns defeated the Warriors 130-119.

The real reason for Andrew Wiggins’ absence has been revealed ahead of the player’s return to the court.

The Canadian star has been away from the Golden State Warriors since mid-February and has been the subject of much speculation these last few weeks, with one rumor even noting he was too devastated to play after finding out his partner had cheated on him with his best friend while also discovering he wasn’t the biological father of their kids.

Wiggins’ girlfriend has since denied these accusations outright, while they’ve also been debunked from certain angles.

With the player now expected to fashion a return this week, NBA insider Shams Charania has revealed that Wiggins took a leave of absence to be close to his father, who has been battling a serious medical issue.

Wiggins’ Warriors teammate Draymond Green had also lashed out at the rumors in the wake of their emergence.

“Sometimes people disgust me,” he said on his podcast. “You don’t know what someone is dealing with, and then you make them deal with THAT?… Stop it, it’s disgusting.”

It is an unfortunate situation for the player, who has had to deal with his father’s condition while also fielding embarrassing rumors concerning his family.

We look forward to seeing him back on the court soon and are hoping his dad is a lot better.

The Warriors have missed Wiggins these last few weeks and will be happy to have him back as they approach the playoffs. They should be keen on avoiding a play-in situation in the Western Conference as they’re only .5 games ahead of the Los Angeles Lakers in sixth place.
