Travis Kelce has disclosed that he intends to pursue a career in entertainment after hanging up his cleats and helmet. The three-time Super Bowl champion is accustomed to the spotlight both on and off the field. With a storied athletic career behind him, the 34-year-old admits to pondering a career in entertainment after the NFL.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Kelce was asked about his performance on Saturday Night Live in 2023 and whether scripted comedy is on his radar. ‘It still is, and I’m out here in L.A. trying to get more comfortable in the entertainment world before we start back up with this football thing, knowing that that’s my main focus in my life, and it’ll always be that until I’m done playing,’ Kelce shared.
‘But I’m definitely still dabbling in the scripted world, the entertainment world and we’ll see where that road takes me. I’m extremely excited, but at the same time, I know I’m a bit of an amateur in that world, so I definitely got to get comfortable and, I don’t know, put my own creativity on it.’
Travis Kelce insisted that all Taylor’s Eras tour performances will be amazing, when he was asked to pick while also giving the perfect reply to being asked if he’ll be present in Europe to support Taylor, he said “Oh you know I gotta go support”.
Given his NFL celebrity status, it is unsurprising that the tight end had additional on-screen appearances. Furthermore, his friendship with pop sensation Taylor Swift propelled his reputation to new heights in 2023.
Kelce’s long-term agents, Andre and Aaron Eanes, have also contributed to his rise to prominence both on and off the field. In January, the twins said that Kelce aspired to be as famous as Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson.
Aside from his coveted role as an SNL co-host, Kelce has acted in multiple television advertisements, collaborated with the Chiefs to develop a clothing line, and co-founded one of the most popular sports podcasts with his brother, Jason.
Kelce has also dabbled in event promotion, with the second Kelce Jam music festival getting announced on March 2. The seven-hour-long festival will take place on May 18 in Kansas City and will be headlined by Lil Wayne, Diplo, and 2chainz.
