Will Smith and his wife Jada Pinkett Smith reunited for a cozy dinner date at the celebrity hot spot Nobu Malibu on Wednesday night.

The 55-year-old Oscar winner and the 52-year-old Girls Trip star were spotted walking side by side as they exited the popular Japanese restaurant.

The two appeared to have arrived separately, and they were also seen getting into separate cars as they drove away from the restaurant.

The surprising reunion comes on the heels of a Christmas Day photo in which the estranged couple posed together with their children to celebrate the holiday.

Although Will and Jada have shared few details about the current status of their marriage, she told DailyMail.com earlier this month that her husband’s shocking Oscars slap had saved their marriage.

‘After all those years trying to figure out if I would leave Will’s side, it took that slap for me to see I will never leave him,’ she said. ‘Who knows where our relationship would be if that hadn’t happened?’

However, she had previously revealed that they have lived apart for years, despite Will referring to her as his ‘wife’ before he strutted on stage and slapped Chris Rock.

For the dinner date on Wednesday, Jada looked chic in an enveloping brown vinyl coat that was loosely draped over her.

The jacket stood out with its glossy sheen, and it featured voluminous sleeves that swallowed up her arms.

She wore it open over a black ensemble, and she elevated her 4ft11in stature with a set of black stiletto boots.

The Matrix series actress sported her now-standard closely buzzed haircut, which was played a role in Will’s Oscars slap, as Chris Rock made a joke comparing Jada to Demi Moore’s buzz cut–wearing character in G.I. Jane, though Rock later said he was unaware that the haircut was an attempt to obscure hair loss she suffered due to alopecia.

Jada completed her outfit with some extra sparkle via several gold necklaces and chains, and she wore a cool set of chunky sunglasses and large gold earrings.

Will was dressed more casually with a gray shirt underneath his charcoal zip-up hoodie.

The King Richard star also had on a set of relaxed black pants, and he wore sleek black-and-white Nike high-top sneakers.

His hair was cut short, and he sported a salt-and-pepper goatee.

It’s unclear if the dinner date signals that Will and Jada are working to revive their marriage after years spent apart in secret.

However, the two didn’t appear particularly affectionate as they exited the restaurant.

Both looked blank faced, and they didn’t appear to hold hands or make any other physical contact.

They also signaled that they may have had separate destinations, as they appeared to leave the restaurant in separate cars, just as they had arrived.

Video from the end of their outing showed Will climbing into the driver’s seat of a white luxury sports car, but Jada didn’t appear to be in it.

The actress has lately been sharing bombshell after bombshell about her marriage and relationship during the publicity campaign for her memoir Worthy.

While promoting the book, she revealed that not only had she and Will been separated for seven years, despite presenting themselves as together to the public, but she also claimed that Will’s slap victim Chris Rock had once asked her out beforehand.

‘I think every summer all the reports would come out that me and Will were getting a divorce,’ Jada began. ‘And this particular summer, Chris, he thought that we were getting a divorce,’ she told People.

‘So he called me and basically he was like, “I’d love to take you out,”‘ she recalled. ‘And I was like, “What do you mean?” He was like, “Well, aren’t you and Will getting a divorce?” I was like, “No, Chris, those are just rumors.”‘

It’s unclear if she clarified to the comedian that the two were separated, even if they didn’t plan to divorce at the time.

She and Will share three children: Jaden, 25; Willow, 22; and Trey, 30, who is Will’s son from a previous relationship.
