We might be in for one of the greatest nights in WWE history.

With the Showcase of the Immortals around the corner, WrestleMania 40 is shaping to be the company’s biggest event in recent history. With Night One featuring The Bloodline going against Seth Rollins and Cody Rhodes, and Night Two involving Reigns and Rhodes, it’ll be interesting to see if the American Nightmare gets to finish his story.

But the biggest attraction involves The Rock, the final boss, who will make his in-ring return after eight long years. However, it appears WWE might’ve planned the return of some other WWE legends to make WM 40 more substantial.

One of the biggest rumors surrounding the upcoming pay-per-view involves the faces of Attitude and Ruthless Aggression Era, Stone Cold Steve Austin and John Cena. Per PWInsider, the Rattlesnake was reportedly approached by WWE to make an appearance in WrestleMania XL. Furthermore, during the brutal brawl between Cody Rhodes and The Rock in the latest edition of Monday Night Raw, fans were able to spot Cena and Austin‘s faces in the production truck behind.

Many concluded that this couldn’t be a coincidence, and Triple H and co. might’ve been teasing the return of Cena and the Rattlesnake. Another major name that PWInsider dropped, includes Hulk Hogan, arguably the most important figure to the WM, who spearheaded the event to the top back in the ’80s. But per the reports, Hogan was apparently contacted to appear during WrestleMania weekend and not the event itself, so whether HulkMania runs wild this WM remains to be seen.

The Undertaker is also rumored to appear at the showcase of the Immortals, who helped define the legacy of WrestleMania throughout his iconic career. Considering he will hold the UNDERTAKER 1 deadMAN SHOW on April 4, 2024, fans expect him to be seemingly involved in the two-night extravaganza in some capacity.

The Undertaker Felt the Rock Was Doomed to Fail Following His Initial Gimmick

Prior to becoming the most electrifying man in sports entertainment, The Rock had a tough time finding his footing in the realm of pro-wrestling, as he struggled to connect with fans as a face.

The Undertaker, who was already a giant in the wrestling landscape by the time the Black Adam Star marked his debut, felt the actor was destined to fail and needed a big makeover.

Speaking on his Six Feet Under podcast, he explained:

“I remember when (he was) coming out in the Garden (MSG) he had the funny colored thing on, and whole… I was like, this kid ain’t gonna make it, he’s got to change… no, he’s dead in the water. He’s the American dream…he wanted to play football that fell through. There are a lot of times when something like that happens people cave and they never rebound and he was just always…even when I thought he sucked, he was always motivated. And he wasn’t like having a pity party, he was picking people’s brains and he was around the guys that knew what the hell was going on.”

The Brahma Bull did eventually change his ways and embraced the heel persona, leading to his boom in the industry, and now fans can’t wait to see him in action in Night One of WM 40.

Night One of WrestleMania XL will take place on 6 April and Night Two on 7 April.
