Country music fans can rejoice because it looks like legendary singer Jamey Johnson might be ready to return to the road.

Melonie Cannon, a country music veteran who sings backup for Johnson, said on Facebook Sunday that the singer is preparing to tour this summer. Johnson did not tour in 2023, and Cannon posted about that on Facebook in January of last year, too, saying that Johnson was “gonna write songs and record music.”

While no official announcement has come from Johnson yet, his website does list performance dates for March 15 in Lake Charles, Louisiana and March 16 at the rodeo in Austin, Texas. He has also been announced for a date in Alabama in May where he will perform as “the special guest” for Alabama.

While he didn’t tour last year, Johnson, 48, still managed to play some shows including gigs at Ryman Auditorium and the Grand Ole Opry.

Johnson was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry on May 14, 2022.
