Titled several times and a true revolutionary of the orange ball, Stephen Curry is one of the greatest players in history. But where can we place it? His fans easily see him in the Top 5 but this is not the case for a famous journalist who did not mince his words about the Chef recently.

Before Stephen Curry started destroying everything, no one had managed to make 3,000 three-pointers in their career, not even former No. 1 Ray Allen. Not only has the leader achieved this feat since, but he should open the club of 4,000 winning shots in just a few months. Besides that, Baby Face won a whopping four titles between 2014 and 2022.

So many arguments that make the Bay star an iconic player and perhaps even one of the ten greatest basketball players in history. Some are even wondering about a hypothetical place in the Top 5… which however seems to repel Chris Russo, a renowned journalist on ESPN . During the show First Take , the latter made an incendiary statement about the double MVP:

Stephen Curry behind KD in the all-time hierarchy?

How could I get him into the Top 5 all-time when I have Kareem, Wilt and (Bill) Russell, LeBron and Michael Jordan? There are already five and I didn’t even mention Magic, Bird, Duncan, Shaq… How the hell could he be in the Top 5? He’s not even better than (Kevin) Durant! Durant isn’t even in the Top 10! Look, he’s a good shooter. Nobody disputes that.

We imagine that Golden State fans must have screamed upon hearing these words and it would not be illogical. Indeed, KD is often criticized for never having won any titles outside of his time in the Bay, while Curry won two without him. And to say of the Chef that he is a “good shooter” is probably the understatement of the year… Needless to say, the reactions were scathing.

Curry is better than KD I don’t care

Stephen Curry behind Kevin Durant in the all-time hierarchy? In any case, that’s Chris Russo’s opinion. That being said, whether in terms of individual or collective results or even impact on the game, the Warriors leader seems to have a clear advantage over his former teammate.
