Josh Brolin recently sat down with ComicBook.com and gave the audience a cheeky hint about his return. While doing so, Brolin also revealed to the audience a major secret that is not known to even many hardcore Marvel fanatics.
“You know, I hear kind of like through the grapevine, that they’re gonna bring him back. And there’s the What If…? series and that’s a different kind of Thanos and all that. But I don’t know in the Marvel world whether they’re going to bring him back, but I didn’t know that he was the most killed-off Marvel villain … You learn something new every day.”

He also faced his death four times in What If…? season 1 episode 5, where he turns into a zombie; season 1 episode 8, where Ultron slices Thanos in half using the mind stone; season 2 episode 1, where Ronan the Accuser killed Thanos with the Kree Universal Weapon to become the most feared villain in the universe; and season 2 episode 9, where a Killmonger variant wearing all six infinity stones snaps him out of existence.
