BBC Beyond Paradise star Barbara Flynn REVEALS surprising job with HUGE salary in front of the CAMERA

Beyond Paradise star Barbara Flynn has revealed her surprising job away from the cameras when she isn’t filming for the hit BBC show.

The actress, who plays Anne Lloyd in the Death in Paradise spin-off, is a woman of many talents and when she isn’t filming she also runs her own jewellery business on the side.

During an appearance on This Morning on Tuesday alongside her co-star Sally Bretton, Barbara admitted that she makes her own jewellery, with some of her pieces even featuring on screen in the show.

Aware of her crafty background, host Dermot O’Leary asked Barbara: ‘Cornwall, what a great place. I mean, Barbara, you do some Cornish craft, don’t you? Some jewellery?’

The star then explained: ‘Well yes I did spend a lot of time going down to West Penwith, which is the first bump of England, up to Penzance and all that. Really rocky, beautiful, bleak, wonderful place.’

Alison Hammond then probed: ‘But all the jewellery in the show is yours?’

‘Well yes that started as a hobby and then turned into a business. And the first designer was very sweet and said: “Come on, Barbara, let’s use it”. And so yeah, I’ve been very happy to do it.’

Previously speaking about where her passion for jewellery making came from, she told The Sunday Express in 2013: ‘My father was a pathologist, who in his retirement did some silver workshops at West Dean College.

‘He would make me various things, like a flat pendant with my initials, but it was not until 2000 that I really took an interest in making jewellery.’

The star also shared more details about her character’s search for love after viewers saw her go on a date with Richard last week.

Discussing Anne trying to find love, she added: ‘She starts dating, which is a completely foreign world for her, and she’s completely lost.

‘And if it weren’t for a great deal of help with the pushing and the swiping and whatever you have to do with Melina. Melina is a gorgeous girl who plays Zoe, and she comes in and she instructs Anne in the language.

‘And there’s someone at the farm shop who is quite a goer so she’s instructing her as well. So she has a lot of information coming in, and she makes two connections. And she does eventually hook up on the second date with Richard’.

She told hosts Alison and Dermot: 'Well yes that started as a hobby and then turned into a business. And the first designer was very sweet and said: "Come on, Barbara, let's use it". And so yeah, I've been very happy to do it'

It comes after Kris Marshall appeared to rule out any crossover with Death In Paradise ahead of a new season of Beyond Paradise

It comes after Kris Marshall appeared to rule out any crossover with Death In Paradise ahead of a new season of Beyond Paradise.

The finale of the first season of Beyond Paradise featured some elements of a crossover between the two BBC dramas, as Detective Inspector Humphrey Goodman – played by Kris – returned to the island of Saint Marie and even reunited with his old friend Harry the lizard.

However, there are no signs of any more interlinking between the two series occurring in the future, after Kris seemingly dismissed any possibility of this happening in season two.

Death in Paradise bosses Tony Jordan and Tim Key said in February 2023 that the difference between the two shows is that Humphrey has to solve a mystery that is not a murder in the first episode of the spin-off.

Furthermore, Beyond Paradise is set in the Devonshire town of Shipton Abbott, while the former takes place on the fictional Caribbean island of Saint Marie.
