Coronation Street fans think Tracy Barlow’s real soap future has been revealed after her apparent exit on the ITV soap.
On Tuesday night, Tracy was seen saying her goodbyes to her relatives including dad Ken Barlow and daughter Amy Barlow. Having leaving drinks at The Rovers, she then hugged it out with her nearest and dearest and left the Cobbles, seemingly for good.
Amid her soap future not being revealed, spoilers had teased an exit was on the cards after 47 years of the character being in Weatherfield. Kate Ford took on the role in 2002, and while she did spend some time away she soon returned and has been there ever since.
Now, the latest episode has seen her leave the street to start a new life with lover Tommy Orpington in Spain. While viewers were not sure if she was actually leaving, Tracy said her goodbyes before being driven away from Weatherfield.

But fans already think they’ve worked out whether Tracy has really left the show following her onscreen departure. Taking to X, viewers shared their thoughts on whether she would be back.
One viewer posted: “Tracy will be back I’m sure. Can’t blame her leaving Steve he’s become a bit of joke, needs to sort himself out.” Another said: “Bye Tracy, I’m sure you’ll be back in no time,” as a third posted: “Ain’t no way that was Tracy’s exit.”
A fourth fan commented: “Tracy will be back on Monday,” as a further post read: “I give it a couple of months before either Tracy or Tommy cheats or gets bored of the other.” It comes as Simon Gregson – who plays Steve McDonald – teased his own future on the show amid onscreen wife Tracy’s exit.
He said: “I think it would be great if we see Steve having to go down the route of speed dating, online dating. Steve could have a full on mid life crisis, maybe we could see him losing weight, changing his appearance, going to the gym. It could be a lot of fun and also a great excuse for me to make some changes in real life!”
Simon isn’t worried whether Steve falls in love with someone on the Cobbles or a new character. He added: “I think anyone will do. At this point in Steve’s life he’d be lucky to have anybody! … He gets why Tracy is attracted to Tommy, but he’s just so upset that his idol has done this to him. I think there’s so much going on at once that he’s not properly put it together yet.”
