His old colleagues Richard, and Ed Balls are currently stepping into his shoes on a rotating basis, hosting around main hosts Susanna Reid and Kate Garraway,

But Judy Finnigan’s husband has insisted he’s more than happy to share the gig with Ed.

Speaking to The Mirror, he said, “I am really happy exactly where I am. It has settled down now to me and Ed Balls doing GMB.

“I did start to fill in for Piers [Morgan] before he left.

“I only did it as his holiday relief and then Piers left and then they had about five of us on a rolling thing and that was fine but now it seems to have settled and it is me and Ed.

“I am lucky I have had my career arc and to be honest I am just now having fun. I would not do it if it wasn’t fun.”

The Sun was first to confirm the Ben and Cat’s ITV contracts in December.

At the time, a source said: “Lots of people were considered. Ultimately it’s about chemistry.”

They added: “This is one of the most coveted gigs in UK television. ITV execs are determined to get it right.

Pay for the new duo is understood to be around £550,000 each — £150,000 less than their predecessors, Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield.
