Lorraine has issued an update after Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu appeared to miss a live TV interview on Monday morning after her Celebrity Big Brother exit on Friday.

Good Morning Britain hosts Susanna Reid and Ed Balls declared Ekin-Su would be on Lorraine on Monday morning. But when they panned over to host Lorraine Kelly, she confirmed the Love Island star was a no-show. Susanna asked her: “We thought you might have Ekin-Su on.” She told them: “So did I… but alas no. I don’t know, we’re trying to find out. She was due to come in right, but no.”

However, later on Monday, Lorraine issued an update on their official Instagram page, writing on their Story: “We’d like to clear up a misunderstanding, Ekin-Su did not pull out of the show or throw the programme into chaos this morning. We’d love to welcome her back on the programme soon. We apologise for the confusion.”

It comes after Layton Williams slammed Ekin-Su for ‘blaming the edit’ over what happened in the house with Marisha Wallace prior to the eviction, during an awkward moment on spin-off series Late & Live. Big Brother host AJ Odudu also appeared to question Ekin-Su over the comments about viewers not seeing everything, leaving viewers divided over how the interview went.

Susanna and Lorraine referenced this interview on Monday morning after Lorraine revealed they had not heard from the star despite the planned interview. Susanna joked that it wasn’t possible to change the edit on their live shows, as Lorraine commented Ekin-Su was not happy with how things went on Celebrity Big Brother and the spin-off series.

The Mirror reached out to a representative for Ekin-Su for comment. As Lorraine kicked off, there was no further mention of an interview taking place. Layton’s comments to Ekin-Su, and her comments about the edit, came after Thursday night’s episode saw the Love Island star angered when Marisha chose her for nominations. Viewers were divided over the car-crash interview on Friday night, with some not agreeing with how hard the panel went on Ekin-Su, while others believed Layton was right.
