Love Island fans don’t need to wait long for the new series.

It’s reported that the ITV2 dating programme which has seen the likes of Gabby Allen, Tom Clare and Malin Andersson become household names will be back in just weeks. It comes weeks after the All Stars edition of the show came to an end, during which previous Islanders headed into the villa to find love again.

While the return date is reported to be Monday, June 3, ITV are keeping the names of the singletons under wraps until much closer to the time. Host Maya Jama is also expected to return to her duties out in Majorca.

“Fans will be pleased as it’s just nine weeks away – summer doesn’t start until Love Island is back on TV,” a source claimed to The Sun. Avid fans of the show will know that the launch episode often airs in the first week of June, with the show being on screens for eight weeks.

Despite previously starting in the first week of June, this changed in 2021 when it started on June 28. The upcoming series will be the second airing of Love Island this year, after All-Stars wrapped in January, with Tom Clare and Molly Smith being crowned the winners. The show lasted just 36 days before the finale.

It’s currently not clear whether the All Stars format will be brought back next year. Host Maya has been a hit with fans since she took over hosting duties in 2022 when Laura Whitmore announced she would be stepping back after receiving mixed reviews from fans of the programme.

During the most recent Love Island final, Maya opened up about her own journey to love after rekindling her relationship with grime legend, Stormzy. After Molly and Callum Jones split six months prior to entering the show, Maya asked: “Was it a shock to you Callum, when you heard that the public wanted you two to get back together?” She went on to add: “I mean, I can relate I had a lot of people saying I should get back with my ex,” before the studio erupted into applause.

Maya continued: “You know, sometimes you’re just not ready for it. He’s over there now, so it’s all worked out in the end,” she said while acknowledging the Blinded By Your Grace musician who was in the audience.
