The defeats of these One Piece characters shocked the audience.
The Final Saga of One Piece is going to bring an end to the expansive story spanning over two decades. Considering it is the last Saga in the series, fans have high expectations from it, and so far, Oda has not let them down.
In the Egghead arc, some of the big names suffered a crushing defeat. Their loss came as a shock to the entire community, as no one thought that they would be defeated so soon. However, the defeats that they suffered don’t mean that they won’t have a role to play in the story. It is likely that Oda will give them a reduced role as he wants to focus on other characters. With that in mind, here are the biggest upsets in the Final Saga.
5. Rob Lucci
Beaten By: Luffy, Zoro
Rob Lucci was the primary antagonist in the Enies Lobby arc. His goal was to hand over Robin to the World Government. However, he was beaten by Luffy in an enthralling battle. Lucci went on to make a full recovery and was then promoted to CP0. With time, Lucci improved his skills and even awakened his Devil Fruit.
He was involved in the Egghead arc, where he fought against Luffy, but he was beaten again. Later on, he clashed with Roronoa Zoro. However, the swordsman was able to overwhelm and beat the CP0 agent. After the fight, Lucci was in terrible condition, and it is very likely that he won’t be bothering the Straw Hats ever again.
4. Eustass Kid
Beaten By: Shanks
Eustass Kid was a member of the Worst Generation. He was a ruthless pirate who did not care about rules or the safety of other people. In that sense, Kid was the personification of a pirate. Kid possessed the Jiki Jiki no Mi, a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit that allowed him to control the forces of attraction and repulsion.Kid played a crucial role in the Wano Country arc, where he teamed up with Trafalgar Law to take down Big Mom. Naturally, his confidence was at an all-time high, so the prospect of facing the Red Hair Pirates didn’t frighten him. However, he soon regretted his decision as Shanks wiped the floor with Kid and his crew. To add insult to injury, Kid’s ship was destroyed by Dorry and Brogy.
3. Trafalgar Law
Beaten By: Blackbeard
Trafalgar Law is one of the most loved characters in One Piece. He is the captain of the Heart Pirates, and under his guidance, the crew accomplished a lot. Law possesses the Ope Ope no Mi, which is a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit, and it allows him to create ROOMs. With his power, Law can bypass the toughest defenses.Law proved to be a valuable ally in Wano as he defeated Big Mom, although he needed some help from Kid. After the battle of Onigashima was over, Law and his crew left to pursue their own adventure. As they drew nearer to Winner Island, the Blackbeard Pirates attacked them. The Heart Pirates made an impressive start, but the Blackbeard Pirates soon gained the upper hand. Ultimately, the crew was battered, and their Road Poneglyphs were stolen by the Yonko.
2. Kizaru
Beaten By: Luffy
Kizaru is a Marine Admiral who has loyally served the organization for many years. As an Admiral, he is considered one of the greatest weapons of the Marines. Kizaru’s greatest asset is the Pika Pika no Mi. It is a Logia-type Devil Fruit that allows him to create and control light. It bolsters the power of Kizaru’s attacks significantly. Moreover, Kizaru is also proficient at using Haki, making him a force to be reckoned with.In the Egghead arc, Kizaru traveled to Vegapunk’s Island along with St. Jaygarcia Saturn. The Admiral was given the job of executing the scientist, but the Straw Hats were standing in his way. Kizaru fought Luffy, and many fans were expecting him to put up a good fight. But the Yonko managed to crush him easily. This was a humiliating defeat for Kizaru, and it is safe to say that he won’t recover from it quickly.
1. Monkey D. Garp
Beaten By: Kuzan And The Blackbeard Pirates
Monkey D. Garp was known as the Hero of the Marines for his heroics in the God Valley, where he allied with the Roger Pirates to take down the Rocks Pirates. Garp had insane physical abilities, which allowed him to contend with Gol D. Roger and many other famous pirates. Garp’s Haki was a cut above most of the characters in the series. A Haki-enhanced punch from Garp was strong enough to shatter mountains. For the majority of the series, Garp was hardly tested in combat, but this changed in the Egghead arc. The legendary Marine traveled to Hachinosu to rescue his protege, Koby. Garp brought backup, but it wasn’t nearly enough to overwhelm the Blackbeard Pirates. They were able to injure Garp, and stop him from leaving the island. Eventually, Garp decided to sacrifice himself to allow the young Marines to leave. He was frozen by Kuzan, who joined the Blackbeard Pirates.
