Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece features an array of characters who hold some kind of importance to the story in one way or another. Among all those background characters, the most important right now is Nefertari Vivi, who has been going through a lot of major updates and character developments before the start of the Egghead Island arc.

It was revealed that during the Reverie meeting, Vivi was kidnapped and her father Nefertari Cobra was killed by the Five Elders. However, later on, the storyline shows that Vivi managed to escape and ended up on Morgan’s airship along with Wapol. However, during the killing of Cobra, a lot of new details were revealed about Vivi.

These details are too important for the storyline and will be focused on probably after the Egghead arc. According to a One Piece theory, Vivi will be forced to marry the biggest villain of One Piece and it will be the job of Luffy and the Straw Hat Pirates to save their former ally.

The Importance of Nefertari Vivi in One Piece

Vivi is a pivotal character in the One Piece universe. Vivi has not appeared in One Piece as much since the end of the Arabasta arc, yet her role remains crucial. She is an important ally of the Straw Hat Pirates. Vivi was last seen during the Reverie, when all of the important leaders of the World Government’s connected countries gathered in Mariejois’ Holy Land, and Vivi joined her father on the voyage.

But this trip turned out to be the worst she had ever taken in her life. During the Reverie, her father King Cobra was murdered, Vivi went missing, only to be discovered later on Morgans’ ship. Since then, nothing has been revealed about Vivi and what the future holds for her in the story.

However, one thing that increased her importance as a character was her connection with Imu. During the Reverie arc, Imu was spotted holding a photo of Princess Vivi. Later, in Chapter 1085 of One Piece, it was revealed that Imu had a link with Vivi’s ancestor Lily, and Vivi’s name included the letter D., making her a member of the D. clan in One Piece.

One Piece Theory States Imu will Marry Vivi

According to a theory shared on X(Formerly Twitter) by @lexypanterra111, Imu wishes to marry Vivi and is romantically interested in her. The theory first demonstrates that Imu is a male because he is referred to as Imu-sei in chapter 1086 of the manga rather than Imu-gu. The theory also reveals that Eiichiro Oda has also been foreshadowing Lily’s marriage in many covers of the One Piece manga.

Later in the Reverie arc, Imu is seen holding a collection of photos of Marshall D. Teach, Shirahoshi, Luffy, and Vivi, all of whom have been stabbed, save for Vivi. Furthermore, when Imu professed his desire for Vivi in Chapter 1086, he never explicitly stated that he intended to murder her.

The theory also connects the flowers in Imu’s room, which are lilies to Queen Lily, Vivi’s ancestor. Lilies are also symbols of love and loss, which adds to the possibility that Imu loved Queen Lily years ago and now wants to have Vivi. If the theory holds any credence, then it will be Luffy’s duty to save Vivi from Imu which could be a good preface for the beginning of the final war in One Piece.
