It’s near-impossible to catch a game of this year’s NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament without seeing Caitlin Clark pop up somewhere, whether for the actual game or during a commercial.

Caitlin Clark, who in March broke the all-time NCAA Division 1 basketball scoring record, led the Iowa Hawkeyes to a huge victory on Monday night, as she scored 41 of the team’s 94 points in their rematch against LSU.

Wherever Caitlin Cark is, fans will show up and tune in.

The NBA now wants a piece of that massive Caitlin Cark pie.

As we all saw, Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry faced New York Liberty guard Sabrina Ionescu in a memorable three-point showdown at this season’s NBA All-Star Weekend, and now Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium is reporting during an appearance on FanDuel’s Run It Back that such a matchup is “very likely for next year as well.”

This time around, it is coming with a new twist as Klay Thompson and Caitlin Clark will be joining the other sharpshooters in a two-versus-two competition:

“At this point Stephen Curry versus Sabrina Ionescu is very likely for next year…I’m told with Caitlin Clark and potentially Klay Thompson to make it 2v2,” Charania reported on Tuesday.

The battle between Curry and Ionescu was arguably the highlight of the entire All-Star Weekend and this new revamped matchup will only be better.

As for now, Caitlin Clark has bigger fish to fry as the Iowa Hawkeyes are fresh off defeating the LSU Tigers in the Elite 8 and are on their way to the Final Four. Clark exploded for 41 points, 12 assists, seven rebounds, and nine threes, scoring more than half of Hawkeyes’ total points.

The greatest women’s college basketball player of her generation will now get to face Paige Bueckers and UConn in one of the more anticipated matchups in Final Four history.

We are likely months away from Caitlin Clark not only staring in the WNBA but having her presence puts fans in the seat at home and on the road.

There is a chance that the ratings for her games will be through the roof and actually surpass a few NBA games.
