Dodging guitars on stage is quite a step up from high school dodgeball.

On stage, a performing musician tends to make mistakes from time to time. From falling off to accidentally unplugging their instrument, many have encountered a problem or two resulting from inattention, rushing, bad luck, or other factors.
Metal guitarist and DJ Sullivan King made quite the amusing mistake the other day. Weeks after being honored with a stunning blood-splattered Schecter Banshee signature model, the musician managed to ruin one of his axes by throwing it at the wrong person.
While performing, King decided to entertain the audience when exchanging guitars by chucking the signature model at his guitar tech. One problem: instead of a guitar tech, ready and waiting, the guitar was thrown at an unsuspecting photographer.
You can imagine his surprise when he was forced to demonstrate his dodging skills instead when a near-$2,000 guitar started rapidly approaching his face.
Naturally, the guitar landed on the floor, in what could be called anything but a soft landing, and King stood there, bewildered, staring at his failed guitar-tech-to-be. No more screaming from that Schecter Banshee, then.
It must be noted that Sullivan King ended up being a good sport about the whole affair – a few shows later, he invited the photographer on stage for guitar-catching redemption. This time, the photographer was ready and sharp, managing to catch the flying axe, and promptly smashing it across the stage like a true God of rock.
