And that certainly proved the case at Sunday night’s Grammys, as Lady Gaga and Metallica’s eagerly awaited duet was marred by a dead mic on a night beset by technical difficulties.
Lead singer James Hetfield’s lyrics could not be heard at all for the start of the set, with only Lady Gaga‘s portion of Moth Into Flame audible.

But despite the thrilling show, it was clear the sound failure annoyed the band, with Hetfield even throwing his guitar onto the stage in a fury as their performance came to an end.
The sound failure was just one of a number of issues to mar the star-studded Grammys.

Gaga isn’t among the nominees this year because her latest record, Joanne, isn’t eligible as it wasn’t released between October 1, 2015 and September 30, 2016.
