Ted Nugent Says There’s ‘No Fire’ In Taylor Swift’s ‘Poppy Nonsense’
Ted Nugent is making it clear he has âbad bloodâ with Taylor Swiftâs music.
The right-wing rock musician, known for his controversialremarks over the years, knocked the âKarmaâ singerâs sound in a recent appearance on âThe Joe Pags Show.â
âSo Iâm afraid to say in this world thatâs gone down the toilet in all aspects, Iâm afraid the success of Taylor Swift â and again, God bless her work ethic, God bless her musical dreams â but thatâs cartoon music,â Nugent said.
âI mean, it doesnât have any piss and vinegar. Thereâs no fire, thereâs no sensuality in that. Itâs all poppy nonsense as far as Iâm concerned and itâs the most popular stuff in the world which is an indictment to the music industry and music fans.â
He went on to claim that music fans arenât looking for âthat fireâ from artists like ZZ Top, Mitch Ryder & The Detroit Wheels, Brownsville Station and The Amboy Dukes â his own former group.
Nugent has not been so âenchantedâ by Swift in the past, Blabbermouth.net noted, as he resorted to his âcartoon musicâ claim again in an episode of his âThe Nightly Nugeâ show back in June.
The rockerâs take on the Time Person of the Year arrives after several right-wing personalities have taken aim at the singer over her Eras Tour, her relationship with Travis Kelce and her attendance at Ramy Youssefâs comedy show benefiting Palestinians in Gaza.
Former President Donald Trump, who Nugent has supported over the years, also recently shared an article that stated Time made a âmassive mistakeâ in giving the Person of the Year title to the singer.
The latest conservative criticism of Swift arrives at the end of a year where she broke a number of records including for her Eras Tour, which made over $1 billion and became the highest-grossing concert tour in history.
She also became the first female artist to reach 100 million monthly listeners on Spotify while her Eras Tour movie became the highest-grossing concert film ever.
Ted É´ugent attacks Taylor Swift and calls her pá´ppy nonsense after âEras Tá´urâ becomes the greatest music tá´ur in historyđŻ
Tokyo believed for a split second that the musician was going to play two new songs from her unreleased album, âThe Tortured Poets Department,â months before its release.
On Thursday night in Japan, Swift announced to the crowd that she would be playing two âbrand new songsâ that she had never played live. Taylor was holding her guitar, preparing for the acoustic set of the evening, when the crowd erupted in excitement at her statement.
âI really have been trying to challenge myself to play songs that Iâve never performed live or definitely havenât done on this tour. So, Iâve selected two brand new songs Iâve never performed,â Swift said.
