Reality TV couple Todd and Julie Chrisley have received lengthy prison sentences after being convicted earlier this year on charges including bank fraud and tax evasion.

On November 21 in Atlanta, USA, judge Eleanor Ross in Atlanta, USA sentenced Todd Chrisley to 12 years in prison plus 16 months of probation, while Julie Chrisley received 7 years in prison.

Prosecutors said the couple submitted fake documents to banks and managers to secure more than $30 million in fraudulent loans.

When the plan collapsed, they abdicated responsibility for repaying the loans when Todd Chrisley declared bankruptcy.

After going bankrupt, they started their reality show, then hid the millions of dollars they made from the show from the IRS (US Internal Revenue Service).
