Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth’s nightmare relationship officially ended with the actor filing for divorce on Wednesday, August 21.

The move followed the “We Can’t Stop” singer, 26, flaunting her relationship with Brody Jenner’s ex-girlfriend Kaitlynn Carter, 30. The women even had a public pow wow with Cyrus’ mother, Tish!

RadarOnline.com confirmed Cyrus and Hemsworth’s eight-month marriage split on August 10, and a source exclusively said, the singer “was the one to end it. She said she wanted an open relationship. She wasn’t ready for just one person for forever.”

The source also explained that the actor, 29, wanted kids right away, while Cyrus just wasn’t into the idea.

Teen Romance

Cyrus and Hemsworth first got romantically involved while filming the movie The Last Song together in 2009 when both were teenagers.

She told Seventeen magazine that the Australian actor was her “best friend.”

They reportedly split in 2010 due to her work schedule, but they rekindled quickly later in that year.
