Macaulay Culkin has returned to our screens as a grown-up Kevin McCallister for a nostalgic Google advert and it’s absolutely incredible.

Let’s be honest we all wished we were Kevin McCallister when we were younger and that our parents would leave us home alone for a week.

It has also become a festive tradition to watch Harry and Marv tackle the traps Kevin set up in Home Alone.

So Christmas adverts don’t get much better than Culkin re-enacting all our favourite scenes from the classic festive flick 28 years later.

Culkin shared the advert on Twitter last night, writing: “#heygoogle Have you ever wondered what Kevin McCallister is like as an adult?” Me neither. But just in case you’re curious you should totally watch this.”

In the video, Culkin recreates some of the film’s iconic scenes in the McCallister house including the bathroom scene, jumping on the bed and the time Kev stuffed his face with ice cream as the pizza delivery boy arrives.

However, things are a little hi-tech this time as he uses Google Assistant-enabled devices to help keep the house running.

He sets reminders for his shopping list and to pay for the pizza delivery. Thanks to the devices he also avoids being burgled (again).

Fans on the advert were quick to point out how healthy Culkin looked. One wrote: “Healthy looking Macaulay Culkin is the reason for the season.”

Another added: “Macaulay Culkin is trending and it’s not the news I was expecting to see. Shame on me, good to see he’s doing well!”

Google also uploaded another video which gave us a behind the scenes look called ‘The Making of Home Alone Again with the Google Assistant’ where Culkin chats about stepping back in time.

After a few entertaining bloopers, he said: “It was interesting going back and doing a lot of stuff.

They did a very good job on the set decoration and all the props and all the shots were really spot on.

“I’m hoping that people are really going to dig it.”
