The smash has started to disappear from some Billboard charts, but on others, it continues to make history.

“Flowers” is a non-mover at No. 1 on the Adult Contemporary chart, Billboard’s ranking of the tunes that rack up the largest number of total audience impressions across pop radio stations in the U.S. that focus on a subgenre known to some as adult contemporary.
The format caters largely to older crowds, and clearly they’re not tired of “Flowers” yet.
As of this frame, “Flowers” has now ruled the Adult Contemporary chart for 40 weeks. Those turns are not all in a row, as other hits have spent time on the throne as well, but Cyrus’ run is still historic.
Before this week, “Flowers” already held the record for the most frames atop the Adult Contemporary chart.
It earned that spot in the history books some time ago. The runner-up, Maroon 5’s “Girls Like You,” managed 36 spins in first place on this popular radio ranking.
While “Flowers” may still be in charge of the Adult Contemporary chart, it is falling on other Billboard rankings–and it was recently removed from one other important list.
Cyrus’ career-defining hit is down on this week’s Digital Song Sales chart, which looks only at the bestselling tunes in the country.
On that tally, it slips from No. 12 to No. 19 after surging following her wins at the 2024 Grammy Awards.

“Flowers” finally fell off the Hot 100 last week. The tune was removed from the ranking of the most-consumed songs in the U.S. after more than a year, as it fell below the No. 25 rung.
Billboard has a rule in place that states that after a track has spent a full year on the list, it must rank among the 25 most-consumed cuts in the country, otherwise it will be taken off the roster.
A surge of debuts from Ariana Grande’s new album Eternal Sunshine caused Cyrus’ blockbuster to be dismissed.
